Effectively Embracing Surrender & Acceptance: Journey to Inner Peace

Embracing Surrender and Acceptance: A Journey to Inner Peace
As I continue my journey, my focus is on embracing  surrender and acceptance, two skills that I am not accustomed to practicing consciously.  The pain of recently recognizing and hearing how the unhealthy patterns of others and Yourself can adversely  affect those in your life is beginning to wane. It’s as if a certain hardness has taken the place of compassion—a hardness where gentle concern and love are truly needed for healing. I remind myself of this whenever I think of those who choose anger and judgment. The key word here is “think.” There is no call for action, only reflection.  Again, my focus is on surrender and acceptance, two skills that I am consciously practicing.
Recently, Cash Peters shared a beautiful and encouraging message about how we are always watched over and cared for. The skill to truly sense this comes through surrender and acceptance. These skills are cultivated in purposeful quiet times—20 minutes devoted to stillness, both within and without. It is in these moments of quiet that we can hear or absorb and accept messages from those who are watching over us and guiding us toward our highest good, whether they be Guides, Angels, our Higher Self, or our Soul.
This practice, combined with the conscious effort to drop judgment and blame from daily life, brings profound healing. It either leads to insights on how healing occurs or deepens the awareness of the goodness within you. As this awareness grows, so does a sense of peace and certainty—a knowing that you are valuable to this earth, to your family, friends, and daily acquaintances.
Each day, the wedges that block this state of surrender and acceptance begin to dissolve. Often, they manifest as fleeting thoughts—almost extraneous—that pop into your mind. When this happens, understand that whatever the thought represents is leaving. Just let it go. There’s no need to analyze it; doing so only prolongs its presence as a barrier to your peace.
The remarkable thing is that, after a short time, you may find that you can’t even recall what the thought was. Success. It’s gone. Another wedge, created in another time and moment, that once stood between you and your peace is no longer there.
This is the transformative power of surrender and acceptance—a path that not only brings healing but also allows you to honor yourself and the innate goodness within you.
